Shehzad Roy is concerned about Karachi being included in the list of uninhabitable cities
Leading singer Shehzad Roy, who is active in education, hygiene and other social issues in the country, has expressed concern over the inclusion of Karachi in the list of uninhabitable cities in the world.
Yesterday, he tweeted a picture of himself on the micro-blogging website Twitter in which he was seen standing in front of a sewerage drain in Karachi.
In the caption of the photo, Shehzad Roy wrote, "Every day I try to save my city Karachi, but according to The Economic Intelligence, Karachi is considered one of the most uninhabitable cities in the world."
"I can't say anything about Karachi, but nature and the environment will not forgive us," he wrote.

Earlier, Shanira Akram, wife of former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Wasim Akram, also commented on the news, saying that all the 250 million citizens who consider Karachi as their home are respectable.
"What our city residents have given and donated to this city over the years is extraordinary," she said.
"Karachi is alive because of the hearts of its people, it is the fifth worst city in the world to live in, but it is number one when it comes to philanthropy, charity and goodwill," Shanira said.
Respect to all 25 million who call Karachi home! What residents of Our city have given and donated over the years is just outstanding.Karachi has survived because of peoples hearts. Top 5 worst cities to live in, but Number 1 when it comes to philanthropy, charity and good will! https://t.co/dpGqRMtmbc

It is pertinent to mention that Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Research and Analysis Division of British magazine “The Economist” has recently released a report. In which Karachi is once again ranked as the fifth worst city in the world in terms of 'housing' due to its extremely unsatisfactory standard of living.
Karachi ranks 168th out of 173 cities in the list, which is better than Algeria, Tripoli, Lagos and Damascus.
According to the list, Karachi's healthcare score is 33.3, it got a score of 35.2 for culture and environment. The city scored 66.7 for education and 51.8 for infrastructure.
It is to be noted that even before this, singer Shehzad Roy and Wasim Akram's wife Shanira Akram have been raising their voices on issues related to Karachi in particular.
