The most popular video sharing app TikTok has announced a program to share advertising revenue with the most prominent creators of social media platforms, through which users can earn good money.

The app was initially launched during 2016 with the name musical.ly. A Chinese internet interpreter namely Zhang Yiming invented the application.

The short video format app TikTok has become extremely popular in recent years with over one billion active users globally and being used in more than 150 countries.

TikTok is gradually updating its functionality and extending its options according to users’ experiences. TikTok has recently extended its option for creators to upload videos upto five minutes.

The company is now launching a TiikTok Plus program, which allows companies to place their ads in specific categories with user content.

Under the Plus program, advertisers will be able to choose videos from gaming, fashion, health, education and other categories.

The program will allow targeted advertising to get the most out of the promotion, however, these advertisements will be shown only on verified TikTok accounts or TikTok accounts that have equal to 10k followers and above accounts.

TikTokers, currently with fewer followers, will not be part of this program and will not be able to make revenue through the app.
