Moon did not seen in Saudi Arabia, Eid ul Fitr will be on 2 May

 

The moon of Shawwal has not been seen in Saudi Arabia; Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on 2 May 2022

According to the Saudi Gazette, state media reported that the Shawwal moon has not seen in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Therefore, Ramadan will have 30 days and Eid-ul-Fitr will be on Monday, 2 May 2022.

The report said that the moon of Shawwal was not seen in the Tamir Observatory or the assembly of the University of Hota Sadr.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Supreme Court said that these reports were received from the courts based on the evidence of experts in this field that the moon of Shawwal did not appear.

The Supreme Court said: "Therefore, it has been decided that according to the Umm Al-Qara calendar, 30 Ramadan 1443 AH on Sunday, the last day will be on 1 May20221, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be on 2 May 2022".

The statement said that the Supreme Court congratulated the trustees of the holy shrines, the Crown Prince and the people of Saudi Arabia and all Muslims on Eid-ul-Fitr.

It should be noted that Ramadan 1443 AH started on 2 April 2022 in Saudi Arabia.

The report said that the moon of Ramadan was seen in Hota Sadr, in addition to the evidence of the sighting of the moon in the Saudi city of Tamir.

It is highlighted that first day of Ramadan was 3 April 2022 in Pakistan a day after it was announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

The committee will sit on 1 May 2022 to witness the moon of 1st Shawwal 1443 AH and if the moon is sighted then Eid Ul Fitr will be celebrated on 2 May 2022.
