Legend Folk Singer Shaukat Ali Passes away on 2 Apr 2021

 

Artist Shaukat Ali, who has a unique spot in ghazals, songs, psalms and different classifications of Punjabi folk songs, expired on April 2, 2021. Darwish Manish and this unmatched folk artist with a helpless disposition won over individuals.

His dead body was also shifted to his native town with honours under the supervision of Pakistan Army.

Shaukat Ali, a major name in folk singing, was naturally introduced to an artist family in Malikwal, District Gujrat. He started singing during the 1960s.

He started his artistic excursion with film singing however rose to notoriety as a folk artist after radio and TV.


Shaukat Ali was acquainted with the Pakistani film world in 1963 by musician M Ashraf in the film "Tees Mar Khan". He sang mystical songs with extraordinary excitement.



During 1976, the singer was awarded 'Voice of Punjab'. Shaukat Ali was also awarded Pride of Punjab Award by Pakistan Institute of Language, Art and Culture (PILAC) during the year 2013.

Shaukat Ali had performed live during 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi and was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence during 1990.

In the conflicts of 1965 and 1971, Shaukat Ali's national anthems assumed a significant part in warming the country. His national song during the 1965 war “ Jaag utha hai sara watan” became very popular and is being listen till today in the national events of Pakistan Army.


Singer Shoukat Ali was suffering from multiple health issues including diabetes and liver problems moreover, the singer had undergone heart bypass few years ago. His health had more deteriorated during the month of October 2020. Therefore, his sons had started fund generation campaign for treatment of Shoukat Ali. However, Sindh government under the instructions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and CM Sindh Syed Murad AliShah gave him facilities for treatment from Sindh.  Meanwhile, he was shifted to well renowned hospital for kidney transplant specialty in Gambat City of District Khairpur. However, the singer was later shifted to CMH Lahore on the instructions of Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.  

Singer Shaukat Ali had been experiencing liver infection for quite a while. This amiable artist, who has become famous on the planet through his art, has left excellent recollections for his friends and family.
