Legend Pakistani actor Masood Akhtar passes away at the age 80

 Legend actor Masood Akhtar passed away on 5 March 2022 at the age of 80 after a long illness

Masood Akhtar was suffering from lung cancer for a long time and had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, for the past two months.

Masood Akhtar has been hospitalized for many years due to old age and various medical complications. He was last admitted to the hospital in January 2022.

Masood Akhtar was suffering from lung cancer and other diseases and had severe difficulty in breathing.

Masood Akhtar fell ill after October last year, as his only 50-year-old son also died of a heart attack last year.

Masood Akhtar was born in September 1940 in Sahiwal, Punjab, before the formation of Pakistan. At a very young age, he started his career with Pakistan Television (PTV) Lahore after 1960.

Apart from PTV, Masood Akhtar also acted and voiced on Radio Pakistan and is considered one of the most popular actors of 1980.

He also gained special fame due to his unique acting. In addition to the main characters, he also played supporting roles while he was most liked in the negative roles.

Masood Akhtar made a place in people's hearts by playing a negative role in popular dramas of the past while he also played the role of a villain in various Urdu films.

Masood Akhtar was also awarded the Medal of Excellence by the Government of Pakistan in 2005.

Apart from personalities belonging to the world of entertainment, political and social personalities have also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Masood Akhtar and termed it as a great loss to the art world.
