You can't give puppies or hugs on this Eid, Firdous Ashiq Awan

 

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister issued press release regarding implementation of COVID 19 SOPs during lockdown in Punjab

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar for Information, said that due to Corona precautionary measures, there would be no gatherings and parties across Punjab on this Eid Ul Fitr. Moreover, there will be neither kisses nor hugs as in the past.

Talking to journalists in Punjab, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Punjab government has issued special instructions to all politicians and important personalities that they will not arrange any Eid gathering parties at their camps on Eid.

The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab for Information said that the joys of Eid are connected with human life. So anybody is healthy then his joys for Eid will be doubled.

He said that Punjab government has implemented smart lockdown in view of precautionary measures. Similarly, people should use smart phones to avoid epidemics and wish each other Eid Mubarak online.

Firdous Ashiq Awan suggested people to congratulate their loved ones on Eid through video and avoid meeting.

She also lamented inability of women for doing Eid shopping due to restrictions imposed due to the epidemic. She said that she has realized that this time women could not buy bangles and other items due to restrictions and their interest in shopping remained unfulfilled.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that due to the epidemic, Eid gatherings would not be held across Punjab this time and political figures would not be able to arrange Eid parties at their camps.

The Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab said that this time there would be no traditional Eid-ul-Fitr parties and there would there neither kisses (Pappiyan) nor hugs (Japhian).

Journalists and politicians present at site were laughing at Firdous Ashiq Awan's ban on kisses (Pappis) and hugs (Japhis) on the occasion of Eid subsequently her video also went viral on social media.

It is pertinent to mention that Government of Pakistan has imposed lockdowns from 8 May 2021 during the Eid Ul Fitr holidays and issued strict implementation at all tier to avoid spread of pandemic of COVID 19.

On the other hand, Supreme Court of Pakistan had given orders to open markets on 8 May 2021 in Sindh and Balochistan for Eid shopping by the poor people. Since, markets of whole Sindh and Balochistan including Karachi and Quetta were open on 8 May 2021.
