According to the notification issued by the Poverty Alleviation and Social Security Division, the syllabus of Zakat has been fixed at Rs. 80,933/- this year.
In the notification issued in this
regard, it was said that Zakat will not be deducted on the amount less than 80933/-.
The statement said that from the first of
Ramadan, banks will automatically start deducting the amount of Zakat, which
will be on April 14 or 15 depending on the sighting of the moon.
Therefore, Zakat will be deducted from
the bank accounts which have an amount of Rs 80,933/-.
It should be noted that the deduction of
Zakat will be applicable to all Savings Bank accounts while Zakat will also be
deducted from the accounts operating on profit and loss basis.
The State Bank of Pakistan had fixed the
syllabus for Zakat deduction at Rs 46,329/- for last year.
Similarly, in the year 2019, the
government of Pakistan had set a minimum curriculum of Rs 44,415/- for Zakat
deduction in the country.
In the year 2018, the syllabus of Zakat
deduction was fixed at Rs. 39,198/- while in 2017 it was fixed at Rs 38,405/-.
It should be noted here that according to
the announcement of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the first Ramadan
in the country is expected on April 14.
