Singer Shazia Khushk

 

Shazia Khushak daughter of Farooq Ahmed Mirza born on 16 September 1970 at Jamshoro. His father was affiliated with Education Department and was teacher in a college. She passed MA from Sindh University during 1990 and where she also married with a professor of Sindh University Ustad Muhammad Ibrahim Khushk and was called as Shazia Khushk. She had keen interest in music since Childhood. During study, she had also performed in concerts of Sindh University. Formally she performed first time on Pakistan Television during 1992 under the production of Sultana Siddiqi. During same year, she also performed during Annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. She was also offered for performing as actress on Pakistan Television but she refused.

 Due to his infinite cultural dress she became famous early. After some time, she also got opportunity to perform in Japan. Later, she performed on Radio Pakistan under the supervision of Kausar Buriro. It is highlighted that she did not get any training of music however she learned much under supervision of Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Niaz Hussain and Ustad Rajab Ali Raza. Her mother tongue is Kashmiri but she has sung in Sindhi, Siraiki, Dhatki, Urdu, Punjabi, Balochi, Brahivi and English languages. However, she became popular as a singer of two prominent languages Balochi and Sindhi.

She has also performed in America, Canada, Australia, Japan, Dubai, Qatar, Singapore, Holand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, India and many other countries. Her famous songs are: Mahi Yar di gharoli (Sachal Sarmast), To Dilri yar Dhutari (Talib ul Moula), Lal Meri Pat, Hasina Popri (Shamshair Ul Haideri) Ghoom Charakhri (Shah Hussain Madhoo Lal) and Dam Mast Qalandar. She has established music library in her home where, she placed audio and video cassettes of different signers. She also writes some poems in leisure time.

Recently, she has decided to give up singing and start to spend rest of her life in service of Islam. Shazia herself declared during interview in show that she had received many offers for singing from various counties but she had to decline due to her religious obligations.
