LHC rejects Meera's Petition against her Nikah with Atiq Rehman

 

Lahore High Court has rejected the appeal of actress Meera against declaring her marriage to Atiq-ur-Rehman valid.

The court dismissed the petition on the ground that actress Meera or her lawyer did not appear.

Despite repeated court orders to appear, actress Meera's lawyer did not appear.

It should be noted that on 28 May 2018 the family court had rejected the claim of declaring Atiq-ur-Rehman's marriage certificate as false.

The Sessions Court had upheld the decision of the Family Court on 31 January 2022 and dismissed her appeal.

Actress Meera had filed an appeal in the Lahore High Court against the decision of the Sessions Court.

Actress Meera said in this regard that during the shooting of the film in Dubai, Atiq-ur-Rehman made a fake nikah nama and wedding pictures.

She alleged that Atiq-ur-Rehman had prepared the fake nikah nama in order to gain fame and blackmail the actress
