Javed Iqbal Film banned in Pakistan has received Two awards in UK

Pakistani movie 'Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Color' banned in own country has won two top awards at UK Asian Film Festival in UK.

Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Color was screened at UK Asian Film Festival, which was also nominated for awards like other Asian films.

The Pakistani film has also received two major awards for Best Actor and Best Director, which were received by Actor Yasir Hussain.

In this regards, Actor Yasir Hussain expressed happiness while sharing the video of receiving both awards on Instagram as well as regretted that film receiving awards from foreign countries has been banned in Pakistan.

Yasir also thanked film team, co-star Ayesha Omar and wife Actress Iqra Aziz in the post for receiving the awards.

It is pertinent to mentioned that Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Color was scheduled to be released in Pakistan during January 2022, but it was banned two days prior to its releasing.

Initially, Punjab Government had banned the film, later, the film crew postponed its screening.

It is highlighted that story of the film revolves around the serial killer Javed Iqbal Mughal belonging to Lahore. He was guilty for rapping killing 100 children.

During 1999, guilty Javed Iqbal had written letter to police confessing murder of 100 children between 6 and 16 years age.

The guilty was rewarded to hang till death but he committed suicide in Lahore jail during October 2001.
