Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced reduction of Rs 10 in petroleum prices, while electricity has also been reduced by Rs 5 per unit
PM Imran Khan addressed to the nation on
night 28 Feb 2022 and said that petroleum and electricity prices will not be
increased till next budget.
Prime Minister Imran Khan further said
that prices of petrol and diesel in Pakistan are still low as compared to other
countries. Petroleum prices in Pakistan will raise up to Rs 220 per liter in
case government may not provide subsidy.
PM also said that prices of petroleum in international
market will not reduce while gas prices will also increase.
"Today I am giving good news to Pakistani
nation that our government has decided to reduce petrol and diesel prices by Rs
10 per liter, instead of increasing it" PM said.
The Prime Minister further said that
electricity rates also being reduced by Rs. 5 per unit, while govt is giving
relief to the nation in this sector by reducing subsidies from other places.
Prime Minister further said that petroleum
and electricity prices will not be increased till next budget but these prices
will gradually be reduced.
We want to stop stench on social media
through "PECA”
While
discussing on PECA Amendment Ordinance, Imran Khan said that stern reaction on is
being seen over PECA Amendment and it being perceived that press freedom is being
restricted. While PECA was enacted during 2016 and PTI government is only
amending it
PM further said "Look at Pakistani
newspapers and media; 70% of the news is against PTI government but we don't
care."
Defending the PECA Amendment Ordinance,
Imran Khan also said, "We want to stop the stench of social media in
Pakistan through this law because there is no such thing in any civilized
society in the world as our social media." Fake news is spreading fuss.

During address to the nation, Prime
Minister Imran Khan sought to expand the National Health Card scheme. He also
announced scholarship and loans to youth under Ehsas program.
He further announced to provide loan to farmers
and affordable person under Kamyab Pakistan program.
PM Imran Khan also announced 100 percent
tax rebate for boosting up Information Technology.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Rs.
407 billion loans will be provided during next two years to youth, farmers and
other persons affording construction under Kamyab Pakistan Program.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced
to increase monthly financial assistance from 12000 to 14000 under Ehsas
program. It has also been announced that Rs 30,000 per month will be paid as
scholarship to unemployed graduate men and women. Besides, he announced to pay
Rs Rs 38 billion as stipends to 2.6 million people.
