Nadia Khan Sends Legal Notice to Sharmila Faruqui

The legal conflict has intensified between TV host Nadia Khan and PPP member Sindh Assembly Sharmila Farooqi over video making

Nadia Khan has also sent notice to Sharmila Farooqi to file harassment and criminal case, including defamation suit against her for harassing her, damaging her reputation and using inappropriate words against the actress.

Nadia Khan has said in her Instagram story on 4 Feb 2022 that Sharmila Faruqui used the agency of Federal Ombudsman, which is an organization that helps women harassed in the workplace.

As per the host Nadia Khan, notice sent to her by Federal Ombudsman is illegal. Because listening of cases regarding social media controversy are not covered in mandate of the agency.

As per the host, Kashmala Tariq holds the post of Federal Ombudsman and an institution being run purely by public taxes is being misused.

On the other hand, Hyde Side Magazine shared copy of the notice sent by Nadia Khan to Sharmila Farooqi on 4 February 2022 and intimated that the TV host as well as hinted to file a criminal case against the politician.

Nadia Khan sent a five-pages notice to Sharmila Farooqi through her Supreme Court lawyer in which she has asked her to apologize within 14 days and remove all content posted on social media and further warned that regarding filing a claim for Rs 500 Million in case Sharmila Faruqui does not give any response  on her notice.

The TV host has also told Sharmila Faruqui through notice that she would also file criminal case against the politician under various provisions of Pakistan Penal Code for inciting people against her.

In a five-page notice, Nadia Khan's lawyer also called the TV actor a Pakistani icon and said that Sharmila Farooqi has tried to tarnish the actress’s reputation.

It has also been stated in the notice that Nadia Khan made her TV debut through Uncle Sargam during 1993 and she appeared in dramas for the first time during 1995.

Moreover, various awards received by the actress have been mentioned in the notice.

It is highlighted Federal Ombudsman has restrained Nadia to give any statement against Sharmila Faruqi on 1 February 2022 as well as summon on the request of the politician.

Earlier, on 29 January 2022, Sharmila Faruqui had sent legal notice to Nadia Khan seeking Rs 5 crore on account of damages. After which,  Nadia Khan had announced to send legal notice of Rs 500 million to Sharmila Faruqui and now she has same to the politician.

Sharmila Farooqi had also lodged complaint against Nadia Khan at FIA on 19 January 2022.

Sharmila Farooqi had lodged a complaint with FIA ​​against Nadia Khan at the time and initiated legal action against the host, when a short video of the actress with the politician's mother went viral in January.

In the viral video, Nadia Khan was asked about the make-up, clothes and jewelery of Sharmila Farooqi's elderly mother but the style of the host was ridiculous, due to which she was also criticized.

The two women have now sent notices to each other on the issue and the legal battle between the two is intensifying.
