Bollywood stars who have visited jails till now

The series of lawsuits against Bollywood stars or their families is nothing new, from assaults to drug cases, many stars have been jailed. Arrest of Aryan Khan Son of Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan is a recent high-profile case in Bollywood Showbiz industry. In this case, Aryan Khan's recent request for bail has been again rejected. He has been in jail for 18 days and will now spend more time in jail.

Aryan Khan is not the first person belonging Bollywood personalities or their families to have been in jail, however, there are many Bollywood actors from Sanjay Dutt to Riya Chakraborty who have been incarcerated.  Here are names of a few actors we give in succeeding paras.

Salman Khan

Bollywood star Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in prison in 1998 for filming his film “Hum Saath Saath Hain”. He was also sentenced to two years in prison in the 2002 hit-and-run case. But he spent 18 days in jail from October 1998 to August 2007 in various stages.

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt was found to be involved in the incident after 1993 Mumbai bombings and he was sentenced to six years imprisonment. His sentence was reduced to one year in 2013, after which he was convicted and released in February 2016.

Riya Chakrorti 

The late actor's ex-girlfriend, who made headlines after Sishant Singh Rajput's death, was also arrested by the NCB (Narcotics Control Bauru) in a drug-related case. Riya spent about a month behind bars and was released on bail by the Bombay High Court.

Fardeen Khan

Actor Fardeen Khan was arrested by Mumbai police in 2001 on drug charges. He was held in pre-trial detention for three days, after which he was released, while in 2012 a local court in Mumbai granted him immunity from prosecution.

Shiny Ahuja

Actor Shiny Ahuja, best known for his role in the gangster movie, was sentenced in 2009 to seven years in prison for raping a house maid. He was released on bail by the Bombay High Court in 2011.

Suraj Pancholi

Young actor Suraj Pancholi is also one of the stars who visited jail. Actor Suraj Pancholi was convicted of forcing actress Jaya Khan to commit suicide. Suraj Pancholi had spent his days and nights behind bars in the case in which he told the media that he was in the Mumbai jail agenda cell.

Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty’s husband Businessman Raj Kundra was arrested by Mumbai police on 19 July 2021 with the charges for making of pornography movies. Later, he was released on 20 September 2021.
