Biography of Poet Late Anwar Qambrani of Dadu


Poet Late Anwar Qambrani, who ever will be listened in Suhni Sindh

Famous Poet Anwar Qambrani son of Mevo Khan Qambrani born on 10 October 1962  in village Phullo Qambrani of Taluka Johi of District Dadu. He passed upto 5th class from his village school during 1967 and started working on his parental lands upto twenty years. He left his native village and migrated to Dadu.

He got teachings of poetry from famous poet Ustad Bukhari. He started poetry from 1983 and his first song was sung by Singer Late Ghulam Hussain Mirasi and this song was “muhenjay yaar lati mehndi Muhenjay pyar pato gano” in the same year i.e 1983.  He has written many poems on love and its grievance. Moreover, he sung national songs on Sindh.

Many singers have sung his poetry. He achieved fame from his song “kaun bachisaan” sung by Singer Manzoor Hussain Sakhirani. His poetry has been released in more than 200 albums which have been sung by different singers of Sindh including Manzoor Hussain Sakhirani, Anwar HussainVistro, Rehman Mughal @ Sarmad Sindhi, Mumtaz Lashari, Allah Dad Zardari, Jalal Chandio, Samina Kanwal, Balak Sindhi, Fozia Soomro, Humaira Channa and many other singers. Not only Sindhi singers has sung his poetry but famous singer of Pakistan Atta Ullah Khan Essa Khelvi and Late Rangeela has sung his poetry.

Anwar Qambrani was amongst the poets whose source of income is only poetry and he had not any other business or job. He was also a good composer and composed some of his songs himself. He assisted many singers and poets of Sindh, who still remember and thankful to him.

Poet Anwar Qambrani was suffering from cardiac disease and was admitted in Karachi for long time however, he passed away on 10 December 2018 at the hospital. He was placed at rest at his native town Dadu as his desires.
