Alleged misconduct with student: Lahore Police registered Case against Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman.
Lahore police have registered a case
against Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman, deputy emir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Lahore and
sacked official of Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia, after a video of alleged
misconduct by a madrassa student went viral.
The video, which went viral on social
media, shows Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman allegedly molesting a boy.
A case has been registered against Mufti
Aziz-ur-Rehman under Section 377 (unnatural offenses) and Section 506
(punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
According to the first Information Report
(FIR) filed on June 17, the affected student said that he was admitted to Jamia
Manzoor-ul-Islamia in 2013.
He said that during the exams, Mufti
Aziz-ur-Rehman had accused him and his student friend of taking someone else's
exams.
The complainant said in the complaint
that At the same time, he was banned from taking exams in federal madrassas for
three years.
The complainant said that he asked Mufti
Aziz-ur-Rehman to pardon him.
The victim said that Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman
said that if I made him 'happy' with sexual acts, he could think of something.
The complainant added that he had no
choice but to be sexually abused.
In the FIR, the complainant alleged that
Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman had claimed that his ban would be lifted and he would also
pass the examinations.
The complainant further alleged that he
was used to do bad deeds every Friday for three years but he was not banned
from passing the exams but started blackmailing more.
According to the affected student, when
he complained to the management of the madrassa, the management staff refused
to accept and said that Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman is an 'old and virtuous person'.
On the contrary, the administration declared him a liar.
The complainant said that he then
presented recording of Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman's misconduct and showed it to the
Nazim of the Federation of Arab Schools. After which Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman
threatened to kill me.
The complainant said that on the basis of
video and audio, the management of the madrassa dismissed Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman,
after which he became angry.
He said that since then, Mufti
Aziz-ur-Rehman and his son have been threatening serious consequences.
Following the video that surfaced few
days ago, a storm has erupted on social media and citizens have demanded action
against the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader.
On the other hand, viral on social media,
Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman said in his message that he was being dragged into the
matter.
He said that if he was 'conscious', how
could the boy make a video using his mobile phone without telling him.
Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman said it was a
conspiracy to remove him from the madrassa.
On 3 June 20, Jamia Manzoor-ul-Islamia
removed Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman.
A statement issued by Asadullah Farooq
said that some people from the neighborhood visited the madrassa and showed the
administration and Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman a video of the alleged rape, after
which Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman was fired.
The letter issued to Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman
said that after consultation between the complaint and the administration, he
was removed from all the responsibilities of the madrassa.
