Legend Actor Salahuddin Tunio

A renowned actor sindhi Actor Salahuddin son of Muhammad Ibrahim Tunio born on 28 February 1949 in Village Haji Dhani Bakhsh Tunio, Qambar. He passed matriculation from Government High School Sukkur in 1965. He passed B.Sc (Hons) in 1967 and Msc (Chemistry) from Sindh University. He started job career from 1973 after appointing as Assistant Taxation Officer in Municipal Corporation Hyderabad. In 1979, he was appointed as Lecturer in Allama Iqbal College Karachi. Later, he passed public service commission and got appointed as drug inspector in Health Department Sindh in 1981. In 1991, he promoted as Divisional drug Inspector and appointed in Larkana Division.  In 1994, he was transferred in Karachi from where he retried as Chief Drug Inspector in 2009.

Sallahuddin Tunio is well known in entire Pakistan as best actor of country. He started his dramatic career from Radio and later he started his TV screen career from sindhi drama series “Nasoor” which is counted to be his first drama of his career. He got famous very much during a role of “Moloo” in Sindhi Drama “Bakh” which was written by Shoukat Hussain Shoro and produced by Faiz Bughio. His most liked dramas are Classic drama written by Mirza Kaleech Baig : Inquiry Officer”,  Sindhi drama Jaar, Milkiat, Mor Udana Mor, Duniya Deewani, Qurbatoon and Aas. He was rewarded “ The Best Regional Award” on Sindhi Drama “Aas” by PTV during 1999.   

Salahuddin Tunio has also performed in many Urdu dramas during his career of 25 years. He was rewarded National Award on drama Dararain. His first Urdu drama was “Choti Si Duniya” which was written by Abdul Qadir Junejo and produced by Haroon Rind. He was awarded on Urdu Drama “Chotay Baray Log” by Sindh Culture Association in 1991, which written by Abdul Qadir Junejo and produced by Syed Ali Rizwi. His well known Urdu Dramas are General Hosh Muhammad Sheedi, Aasman Tak, Deewarain, Jhungle and  Zard Pattoon ka Pann. He also directed a drama Sab sy Bara Rupiya in 1997. He produced a drama kaali Chaddar written by Rehmat Ullah Manjothi.

Salahuddin Tunio also performed in approximate 5 movies. His movies are Sindhi Movie “Barsaat of Ghaffar Tabassum, Suhna Sain of S Gul, Ali Gohar of Mehmood Siddiqui and Akhri Goli. His face is matched with legend actor Waheed Murad Late. It is learnt that Late Waheed Murad expired during film making  of movie “Hero”, however film’s Director Iqbal Yousaf decided to complete it and interviewed actors matching with Late Waheed Murad where Salahuddin Tunio was selected for the movie. However, he was later not assigned the movie.

Salahuddin Tunio is also a good Stage actor and stage program organizer. He has performed in many stage dramas and organized stage programs is different cities of Sindh and Pakistan. After taking a break from television Salahuddin Tunio made an impressive entry back into television few years ago. Presently, he is performing in many dramas of different private channels. His 2 sons are also affiliated with Show Business. His son Sunny Tunio @ Fahad Mustafa is also famous and renowned celebrity of Pakistan who has been working in Showbiz since 2008.
